BOSTON (FOX 25 / MyFoxBoston.com) – The Sudbury man accused of plotting to kill Americans here at home and in Iraq already suspected someone was watching him before his arrest.
The Boston Globe reported that in 2006, Tarek Mehanna suspected one of his friends was a government informant after the FBI approached him about his activities.
The 29-year-old allegedly told a friend in an Internet chat that one of their associates on the Web knew information about him that he shouldn’t have.
The defense says the FBI tried to recruit him as an informant, but when that failed, charged him instead.
Testimony continues at federal court Wednesday.
